Technical Network information
NetYP for the benefit of its members & in the interest of being a good net
citizen have install deployed many features to the network. A breif list and
details are listed here.
| SMTP - |
Mail sending, mail can only be sent via a registered smtp server
This controlls the flow of mail reducing the number of fraudulent mails
being sent (a virus infected compute can send mass mail direct) |
| POP |
Only registered connections are allowed, helps prevents unauthorized
access |
| NTP |
NetYP has multiple registered Time Servers on the network to sync your
machine point it to ntp.netyp.com |
| Error
Messages |
NetYP will send via email, error messages or display them on a web
page. Please read them carefully as they provide info about the
fault. Your network administrator is
admin@netyp.com email any
question you have regarding error messages. |
NetYP will block some ports on the boarder router as required to protect our
network from attack to ensure better service to our clients. This might make
some uncommon services fail. Any errors please report to admin@netyp.com
